A signed Memorandum of Understanding by the Heads of Computing and Electrical Engineering was put forward to Engineering Studies Board, 8th November 2000. There had been very little student consultation and the effect of the changes would be for ISE to be administered solely by EEE and for the first two years to be taught only in EEE.
Engineering studies Committee noted the Departments intentions but decided there was not enough information for them to approve the change. They have asked for more detailed proposals which are likely to be submitted in March.
There may be some implications for existing students as a result of proposed changes for new students. However, not all the stuff that has been going around is entirely accurate. The documents posted below are the only written treatises on the issue.
